I really enjoyed this book, even though it's really hefty, you read it very quickly because you can't wait till you know what happens next. The main character, Shea, finds herself in a point of life when she tries to define herself, her place in the world. She wonders whether her life in a small town in Texas is really all that she can achieve. Shea is not a typical woman. She's a great fan of football, she lives and dies for it. She greatly admires her best friend's father, Trainer Carr, the guru of the local football team. Everything in her life is comfortable and predictable but also deceptively perfect. Why do I like the book? Maybe because I see a bit of myself in Shea (not the passion for football) but her inner struggle, her second thoughts about her life choices and uncertainty that follows her throughout the story. Why do you sometimes hurt other people when you try to be happy for yourself??? Is it a sin to think about yourself, just for a change??? Find out and read the book. It' definitely NOT a waste of time:)
